We just happened to find this place while searching the internet for somewhere to stay. Dinner was great and so was our stay. We are now leaving Armours Hotel and Spa after a good home cooked breakfast. When pulling upto I thought wow. It looked really ran down on the outside. It’s an old Victorian hotel from the 1900s. No tvs or central air. It had a small ac in the window and a quaint little room. Great hospitality, good food and the grounds were pleasant to walk around. The nature smells was a bit much for me with my asthma but I’m good. I’d have to say I would come back if given the opportunity. Lafayette, TN isn’t very big but a quaint little town. It’s not for you if your used to 5 star hotel amenities but definitely a piece of history to inquire about. The only mineral bath spas left in Tennessee.
Just a little old town with some interesting facts.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay. We are in process of fully restoring The Armour’s Hotel including painting the outside trim. The Brick is the origional brick from 1924 when it was build. It was known as Smith’s Brick Hotel. That brick was made on site. So we like the brick as it is and will keep it up. Currently 2 of the rooms have TVs – the suites. But most people really appreciate the down time. The kitchen and dinning room have central AC and heat. But each room has its heat and AC units (just like many hotels) so you can control the temperature in your own room. Most of the food is locally sourced. You will always get good service – we love Red Boiling Springs and Lafayetter, TN and we love our beautiful building. Yes – it is the only mineral springs hotel left in Tennessee. We hope to see you soon.
